proud member of cyberspace since 1992

About Me

I work as the Manager of Information Systems for a law firm in downtown Fort Lauderdale. I'm also an independent researcher with a PhD in political science from the University of Minnesota. When the mood strikes, I study and write about political theory, international relations, critical cultural studies, democracy and cyberspace. I maintain this site so that former and future colleagues have a place to find my work. Thank you for visiting. --Diana

Current Interests

Xena uber fanfic, Internet widgets, disaster recovery, and finding ways to promote democracy.

What I'm Doing Now

I'm learning digital video editing and sound mixing. I'm also working on a large writing project with enough material for three novels. The Internet, rhubarb, cooking contests, and modern society feature prominently. Stay tuned.

Site Moved to .Name Domain and Redesigned for Blogs and Widgets

    March 11th, 2007 by Diana

If you’ve searched me on the Internet before, you may notice the new site look and location. We finally gave up on Earthlink as our ISP (which was inevitable) and registered our surname with the little known .name top-level domain meant for individuals. This will be my permanent site location (regardless of ISP). If you previously linked to one of my articles, please click “Articles Online” to find the new web address.

The site changes reflect my new interests in occasional blogging, Wordpress themes, and Internet widgets. Please notice especially the sidebar widget encouraging visitors to my site to pledge to watch Al Gore’s documentary An Inconvenient Truth. I don’t really care if you pledge; just please watch the documentary. It’s just plain smart.

On the domain: any bonafide Saco’s out there who would like to homestead a portion of our second-level domain saco.name can email me. My sister and I will consider all requests (especially from family).
